Mount Baker - Coleman Deming

Overview:

This route begins on the North slopes of Mount Baker, starting from the end of Glacier Creek Road. The route ascends through old growth forest until you reach Hogsback. From Hogsback, continue up the lower slopes of the mountain to the Coleman Glacier. Ascend the Coleman glacier to reach the base of the black buttes, where you will be treated with a beautiful view of the mountain and surrounding valley. Head up to the saddle between Colfax Peak and Baker before ascending the moderately steep snow slopes of the Roman wall on the Deming Glacier. After cresting the Roman wall, it’s a short walk across the summit plateau to the summit of Mount Baker at 10,786’! Descent is via the same route. This route involves glacier travel, and requires ascending moderately steep snow slopes.
